During tlie week several people have drawn our attention to the article in last Saturday's ISuoi.eh advocating the reduction of the annual dog lax from !f'2 down lo $1. They say our stand on the question is right; that the Council should take the matter up and adjust it at once. They wish us to continually remind that liody until it takes action. Many poor people have little house pets; they harm nobody; the owners would not part w ith them for the world; yet they cannot afford to pay out $2 a year for these pets, when one of those dollars dol-lars is sadly needed to buy their little ones school books or a warm |
