A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A A Mrs. Ottis Johnson of Midvale is in the city for an extended visit to her mother, Mrs. Nina Nelson. Mrs. R. H. Winder, who spent some time visiting at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. W. Jones, returned to Salt Lake the first of the week. Rv. A. V. Boand of Mt. Pleasant will conduct services at the Presbyterian Presby-terian chapel in Gunnison next Tuesday Tues-day evening. Services will start at 8 o'clock and a cordial invitation is extended to the public to be present. J. T. Jones, banker and real estate man, returned Tuesday from a motor trip to Southrn California. He was absent about three weeks and while away visited at the home of W. F. Holt at Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Vern Olsen, who came here to bury their son, Vern, returned re-turned to their home at Salt Lake last Saturday. They were accompanied accom-panied by Frank Olsen and the latter will be at the capitol city several days lookin gafter business masters. John Earnsen celebrated his 13th birthday anniversary by entertaining some twenty of his friends at a dancing danc-ing party at the Kozi Wednesday evening. Following the dance light refreshments were served by Mrs. L. H. Erickson. Deputy Sheriff J. C. Carlston w :s here from Manti the first of the week on official business. Mrs. F. A. Beck left for Salt Lake -" City last week where she will spend a month or six weeks visiting relatives rela-tives and friends. C. C. Nielson, deputy county assessor assess-or for South Sanpete, went to Manti Wednesday and held a session with the county assessor. Miss Errna Lundeberg, win is serving a mission for the L. D. S. church in the eastern states, has been transferred from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Penn-sylvania, to a new field. Miss Lundeberg, Lunde-berg, according to advices received by her mother, is now located at Huntington, West Virginia. Mrs. Clarence Madsen was hostess to a number of friends at an anniversary annivers-ary party at her home February 23. Progressive "500" was played and the winners were Mrs. J. A. Hagan and Leo Bardslcy. Delicious refreshments refresh-ments were served following the card session. Mary Fjeldsted, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Fjeldsted, of Center-field, Center-field, underwent an operation frr acute appendicitis yesterday morning. The operation was highly successful and the patient is reported as progressing pro-gressing splendidly. Mrs. James Bown, in answer to a summons, went to Salt Lake last Saturday and was present at a slight operation performed on Keith, the infant in-fant son of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Larson. Lar-son. The operation was highly successful suc-cessful and the baby, together with its mother and Mrs. Bown came to Gunnison Sunday afternoon. Alex Beck of Centerfield, and Geo. Q. Whitlock of Axtell, left for Paci- fic coast points last Saturday. In their charge were 11 cars of choice Southern Utah beef cattle and after the delivery of the stock Messrs. Beck and Whitlock will do a little sight-seeing stunt before returning home. |
