Show Impressive Service For Baby Olsen Impressive funeral services were held for Vern Calvin Olsen, the three-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Olsen, at the Relief Society! hall Thursday afternoon of last week. Services were conducted by Bishop E. L. Swalberg, and the , speakers, Jos-Christensen, Jos-Christensen, Jos. A. Larson and C. E. Ferre, spoke feelingly for the young life that had been called so suddenly and condoled with the grief stricken parents. A quartet, during the services, serv-ices, rendered "Beautiful Zion," "We Need The Every Hour," and "Sometime "Some-time We'll Understand." During the entire services there was a hused stillness and the hosts of warm friends gathered to pay the last tribute trib-ute to the only child of Mr. and Mrs. Olsen. Little Vern was born at Salt Lake three years ago and later the family came to Gunnison, where they resided re-sided for a couple of years. A year ago Mr. and Mrs. Olsen returned to the city. On February 12 the little boy was stricken with measles. This malady caused little alarm and it was not until there was signs of qneumonia that danger was sensed. Every thing possible was done to .check the dreaded dread-ed pneumonia, but without avail and Febuary. 25, the little soul was called to its maker. The body was brought to Gunnison and following the funeral services the remains were interred at the family burial lot at the city cemetery. A profusion of beautiful flowers offered both at the cemetery and at the hall' where services were held, marked the deep sympathy for the dead son and the parents. |
