Show Republicans Hold Big Party Meeting Chas. R. Mabcy, former governor of Utah, R. S. Collett, a prominent politician, and John F. Holden, state auditor, of Salt Lake, were the principal prin-cipal speakers at a republican rally held at the Casino theatre Friday-night Friday-night of last week. The visiting campaigners were greeted with a crowd that filled the theater to standing room and throughout some interesting points were given rotative rota-tive to the approaching election and the respective candidates. Chas. Mabey, the principal speaker, speak-er, dwelt at length on taxation, protection pro-tection and prosperity, and touch, d upon the school land grants made by the government. He declared that it was the policy of the republican administration to wrest from the government the lands rightfully belonging be-longing to the schools and which had, been allowed to fall into the hands of others. The presence of mineral on the lands, he declared, was tha cause of much of the lands beinir taken tak-en away, and concluded by s-tating that every effort- would be made for the restoration of the lands. R. S. Collett stressed upon the importance of voters exercising their franchise at election time. The lack of interest in selecting men of integrity integ-rity to fill offices is due to the lack of interest in voting.
