Show Itinerant Vendors Get Jolt in Atlantic City Itinerant vendors who represent themselves as ex-service men are required re-quired at Atlantic City, N. J., to obtain the endorsement of the local lo-cal post of the American Legion and to have been residents of the state for at least a year before permission is granted them to peddle their wares. County Clerk Blair, who advocated the ruling, stated: "There are Legion members and ex-service men enough who are entitled to anything in the way of permits to conduct business, without wasting time with fakers who are endeavoring to capitalize on sympathy sym-pathy for the former soldiers. Ex-service Ex-service men have been victimized on all sides through the false representation representa-tion of cheats who never were in the war and have no other concern than to make money at the veterans' expense." |
