Show Forest Service News j Ranger Cox reports that 15,000 rainbow fingerlings have been furnished fur-nished by the state fish and game commission to the Manti association for planting in Six Mile and Manti Canyon creeks. The civil service commission announces an-nounces that a special examination for. the position of stenographer and typist in the departmental service in Washington, D. C, will be held on November 15, in Logan, Ogden, Pro-vo, Pro-vo, and Salt Lake City. The entrance salaries paid for this position are from $900 to $1,000 per annum, besides be-sides the $20 per month bonus which is usually paid in addition to the abovo salaries. Our stenographer and typewriter, Miss Duena Christensen, has submitted submit-ted her resignation, effective December Decem-ber 6. Miss Christensen laeves the service to become a missionary for the L. D. S. church in the Northwestern Northwest-ern States. Supervisor Humphrey returned from the range "appraisals meeting held in Ogden, October 25 and 26. Regarding the question of appraisals units, it was decided to treat the entire en-tire Manti forest as one unit for each class of stock. Reports will be written writ-ten up in this office some time during dur-ing the coming winter. The reconnaissance recon-naissance maps will be used so that it will not bo necessary for the Manti to prepare other than the map showing show-ing improvements needed and improvements im-provements constructed. . On October 2 2 and 23 a brush fire occurred on private lands in Birch Creek. Rangers Olsen and Ollerton spent a couple of days on this fire in order to prevent it from getting on to forest lands. |
