Show Services Held For Brigham Sorensoi. Centerfield. Nov. 17 Impressive funeral services were held over the remains of Brigham Ira Sorenson from the meeting house last Monday afternoon. Ira Sorenson, as he was familiarly known among his many : friends here, died very suddenly av Los Angeles, Calif., November 7. He I retired ;it 9:30, apparently in good health and the following morning he j was found dead in bed. and it is supposed sup-posed the direct cause of death wu heart trouble. Services Monday were conducted by A. L. Fjeldsted, and the musical numbers by Chorister Sidney Fjeldsted. Fjeld-sted. The opening song "1 Need Theo Every Hour" was followed by invocation by Chr. H. Christiansen. After the selection, "O, My Father," Chas. H. Embley made a few remarks, re-marks, and this was followed by the song. "Sometime, Somewhere," rendered ren-dered by Mesdames James Brierly and Elton Sorenson. Brigham Jensen Jen-sen was the next speaker and after singing, "Shall Wo Meet Beyond the River", benediction was pronounced by Jens Beck. The dedicatory prayer at the cemetery was offered by C. P. Larson. x Brigham Ira Sorenson was boru at Salt Lake City, December 10, 1903, and was the son of Bernard and Isabella Isa-bella Sorenson. Shortly after his birth his parents removed to this valley val-ley and Ira resided here until about five years ago when he left for Salt Lake. Last September he went to Los Angeles and was engaged as driver for a creamery concern wheu he was called by death. The body was shipped here for burial, having arrived at the homo of bis aged grandmother, Mrs. Stena Jones, Sunday Sun-day evening. Besides his mother, Mrs. Belle Jones from Salt Lake, there were present at the funeral from outside points, Mr. and Mrs. E. D. Joiich, Mrs. Charles Sorenson, Mrs. Isou- berg, Mrs. II. Strike and Mr. Krisfo-phlas, Krisfo-phlas, all of Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sorenson of Spring City. Mr. and Mrs. Colby and Leo Ockerman of Sigurd, and Mr. and Mrs. Ockerman Ocker-man of Garfield. The death of Mr. Sorenson wai a great shock to all, and more especially especial-ly to bis mother, bo being her last, child and only dependent. The mother moth-er will remain here for some time, before be-fore returning to her homo In Salt i Lake. The Relief society members held their meeting and program at the i home ot Mrs. James Brierly Tuesday afternoon. Metcair last Saturday. Sat-urday. Both the mother and baby are doing nicely and Father Mctcalf Is rejoicing over the eveut. |
