Show Mayfield Doings. (Special Correspondence.) Mayfield, Nov. 17. Wednesday afternoon of last, week the Freshmen boys of -the Mayfield school hauled gravel for the school grounds and greatly Improved the looks of I lie yard. Following the work done by (he boys the girls served the workers with an appetizing Supper. Hyrum Christensen, was taken to Salt Lake last Friday morning. He is very sick and at the hospital where he was taken it is reported that developments de-velopments will tell whether ho will have to undergo an operation or not. Armistice day was appropriately observed in Mayfield. The festivities festivi-ties began with the ringing of bells and the firing of canon. At 10:30 an interesting program was given and during the program each Klldinr boy wis presented with a badge of red, white and blue ribbon. In the afternoon a program of sports wat given and the celebration was closed with a grand dance In the evening. C. R. Nielson was the honored guest at a dance given last Friday evening. Mr. Nielson had served :;9 years as clerk of the town board and for his faithful and untiring services he was presented with a rocking chair. The Social Circle club met at the home of Mrs. Clyde Willardson Wed. nosday evening of last week and a most delightful time was spent in ncedlecraft. An interesting reading was given by Mrs. Ida Wbitlock. Refreshments Re-freshments were served at ten o'clock. o'-clock. The . S. Club members were the guests of Mrs. Orsen Manvlll at her home Wednesday evening of the past week. Needlerraft and a reading by Mrs. Katie Scow afforded a pleasant time for the members presented. At ten-thirty a delicious luncheon was served. |
