Show Club Members Give Elaborate Banquet An informal dinner party tendered by the members of the lint re Nous club at the Elite Cafe last evening pmved one of tho most enjoyable ever given by the club members. The regular regu-lar lij-monthly club luncheon was dis-pen.-ed with and the affair made more elaborate for the reason that the u ivi s of tin- members were tin- honor, c.l guests. More than forty dim rs win- present ami for an hour and a half tlm-c pn-M-nt enjoyed a splendid roast chit ken dinner prepared by Mi in Host Adolph l'eterson. In addition addi-tion to the chicken there was plenty 'of "fixings" and desert. i Notwithstanding the fact that it was the ngular meeting night, business busi-ness was suspended and those present made merry feasting, toasting and enjoying en-joying a rial get-to gether time. I Harvey Kennedy, of the News staff, instilled mirth and laughter by ap- ' pcaring at the dinner attired as a "lady" and passing himself off as "Jane I'ickford". Dr. Bullock ably assisted as-sisted in the prank and many "did not fall" for the joke for many mo. , mi-uts. The stunt was clever and Ken- , nedy portrayed the part of a woman ducedly well until the small slippers which he was wearing gave him "pain." Immediately after the close of the banquet the guests were invited to the Casino nt the guests of Manager Duggins. Previous to leaving the cafe, , a vote of thanks wes extended to Mr. I Duggins for his hospitality. The gathering last evening gavel evidence of the real spirit of getting together and in addition to enjoying a good time several new applications were, mado for membership to the club. |
