Show Fireworks Start Sunday, May 29 While the schedule for the Southern South-ern Utah Baseball league, comprising compris-ing teams from Gunnison. Salina, Richfield, Monroe and Elsinore, has not as yet received the final arrange-'-inent, the announcement of the opening open-ing of the league games was made at the meeting of the association at Salina last Monday evening. For the opening day, Saturday, May 29, Salina Sa-lina will meet Monroe at the Salina diamond. The opening game at Gunnison Gun-nison will be on Decoration day, May 30, and the contending teams will be the Gunnison Sugar Kings and the Richfield team. There may be a Blight change of the schedule as presented pre-sented at last Monday night's meeting, meet-ing, and for this reason it will not be published until next issue. In all there will be twenty-eight games played during the season, di; .vided into two halves. During the first half seven of the games will be played on the home grounds and seven will be played abroad. A similar sim-ilar arrangement will be made for the second half. When the whole schedule has been played and in the event one team does not win the title in both halves, the winners will play off the series for the championship of the league. Unusual Interest has been manifest mani-fest in the league throughout all the towns which have representative teams playing and with the view of furnishing the citizens with clean sport there "is every reason" to believe be-lieve that baseball will prove more successful this year than ever be-'fore. |
