Show Early Christmas Mailing Is Urged Christmas is almost here! And think what your great postoffice de- partment has ahead of it. With a ! view in aiding the local office as well j as helping the department through-I through-I out the United States in handling the Christmas mail for 100,000,000 peo-! peo-! pie, Postmaster General Hays is urg-i urg-i ing co-operation from all, and if this j is done there will be no disappoint-! disappoint-! ment by anyone when Christmas dawns and the packages are opened. It is advised that all get their parcels par-cels mailed this week do not wait until the last week and this will relieve the rush that comes directly before Christmas. Mr. Hays asks that that the following message be Spread broadcast: "Our postmaster has asked us to mail our Christmas parcels this week, for, unless we do, Uncle Sam's load may be so heavy the last few days before Christmas that ne won't be able to deliver all the presents by Christmas eve." And be careful in mailing your parcels. All parcels must be wrapped and tied and addressed plainly In order or-der that they may arrive in good condition with their Christmas appearance ap-pearance unspoiled. You may put on your packages, 'Do not open until Christmas.' Be careful' 'to put on sufficient postage on the parcels; write plainly and avoid any fancy attempts, at-tempts, for postoffice clerks and mail carriers will be too busy to stop to decipher any poor writing. Put your return card plainly in the upper left hand corner, so that your mail will be returned to you in case it is not delivered. The busy season for the postal employees em-ployees is now on. You are interested interest-ed in the safe delivery of your parcels par-cels and you are interested in receiving receiv-ing from your friends. If the rules plainly set out are adhered to you will not only get satisfaction, but you will be lending a great assistance to the postal department. Mail your parcels early! |
