Show in order to provide himself with an education. Every young man who thus labors will surely succeed ami make a mark in the world. Young men and young women, educate yourselves; it is the must profitable investment you can ma lie. On Monday, the 12th hist., two happy homes in our quiet city were deprived of loving mothers through the cruel hand of death. Mrs. Mary Hubbard and Mrs. Williams were the victims. Mrs. Hubbard, wife of C. W. Hubbard, was 58 years of age. She emigrated from Wales in 1S55. She was a woman of most excellent qualities; her quiet, unassuming manner won the admiration ad-miration of all. A large family mourn her loss. Mrs. Williams has been in Utah less than 'la year. She has ever been noted for her hospitality. In her native land the missionaries ever found food and shelter beneath her roof. She leaves four sons to mourn her departure. The funeral of both were held Wednesday afternoon. The entire community sympathize with the bereaved. Willard, June 15, '93. WILLI III). Right Proud of Cole Seek Education-Death Education-Death of Two Good Mothers. R. E. Davis is preparing to erect a neat brick residence in the northwestern north-western part of town. Father Braegger, our mail carrier, runs a conveyance to and from the depot thine times a day. We anticipate a "big" timo on the 4th of July. An able committee has been selected, and we are confident con-fident that it will provide an excellent excel-lent program. Our motto is, ''Let Willard furnish her own amuse- ment. W. E. Cole, one of our many bright and promising young men, has received the appointment, oi military cadet to West Point. There were thirteen competitors, but W. , E. outstripped them all, which is a sufficient recommendation of his mental and physical qualifications, for the examination was a rigid one. Not only should Willard be proud of securing the appointment, but Box Elder County at large should rejoice that one of her sons is so highly favored. We are well acquainted with the abilities of Mr. Cole and predict a brilliant future for him, and are confident that the choice is an excellent one. As the appointments are made a year in advance he will not leave for West Point until next year. We are pleased to note that there is a growing inclination among our ! young men to obtain for tlu ni-! ni-! sulves liberal educations.
