Sheffield of Kaysville has returned to his home after spending spend-ing a week visiting with friends at Centerfield. Miss Aleen Bonnett, who has been the guest of her sister, Mrs. Ernest ilalverson, for the past two weeks, returned to her home at Provo Tuesday Tues-day of this week. Mayor and Mrs. J. W. Jones left for Salt Lake Wednesday morning for a brief visit to friends and relatives. rela-tives. They are expected to return the first of the week. Mrs. Jesse I). The, Willardson home w as artistically j decorated with the national colors,, red, white and blue flowers being used in profusion. Mr. and Mrs. Austin Kearns and Mrs. C. E. Ferre were called to Monroe Mon-roe last Friday on account of the illness ill-ness of Yearn Yergensen. Mr. Yer-gensen Yer-gensen was quite ill but reports now are to the effect that he is showing some improvement. Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson.. Misses Adele and Hazel Anderson, left last Wednesday morning for a trip through the northern part of the state. They will visit at Salt Lake, Ogden, Logan and other iToints and expect to be absent a week or ten days. Mrs. William Metcalf, who has been absent in the northwest for the past five weeks, returned to her home in Gunnison the first of the week. While away Mrs. Metcalf visited vis-ited with her daughter, Mrs. D. B. Saunders, at Tacoma, and with friends at Yakima, Wash., and at Portland, Ore. Miss Dora Reck, of Clearfield, Utah, is the house guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. A. Beck of Center-field. Center-field. ('. C. Campbell, feild superintendent superinten-dent for the Independent Oil company com-pany for the territory south of Nephi,! was here Wednesday looking after the company's local interests. L. Frank, operating stores at Salt Lake, Nephi, Gunnison and Richfield, was a visitor to Gunnison yesterday. Mr. Frank was conferring with R. J. Parr, local manager. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Jolley of Tropic Trop-ic were here for a short visit with Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Jolley Tuesday of this week. The visitors were en-route en-route to Salt Lake City for a short vacation. Miss Cora Jepson, who has been residing at Salt Lake for several months past, was here this week for a brief visit to her mother, Mrs. Hannah Jepson. A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Larson last Sunday morning. The baby tipped the scales at seven pounds and both he and his mother are doing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Anderson, Mrs. G. Q. Christensen and Miss Vada Peterson motored to Salt Lake Tuesday Tues-day of this week. They will visit with friends and are expected to return re-turn today or tomorrow. Mr. and Mrs. Julius Johnson, Misses Ida and Rosie Johnson, will leave for Salt Lake tomorrow. They will travel by auto and will visit with friends and relatives at the capitol city until next Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. R. Q. Dorius of Nephi Ne-phi are in-the city for a brief stay. Mrs. Dorius was called here on account ac-count of the death of her grandmother, grand-mother, Mrs. Susanna Voorhees. Many members of the Relief society soci-ety met at the home of Mrs. Myrtle Beuhanin last Tuesday afternoon for a social time. A splendid program was given and later light refreshments refresh-ments were served. Mrs. Frank Christensen, who has been here for some two weeks visiting visit-ing with her husband, Frank Christensen, Chris-tensen, the stock buyer, left for her home at Salt Lake Wednesday morning. morn-ing. Miss Evelyn Mortensen was hostess host-ess to nineteen of her little friends at an anniversary dinner party at the home of her grandmother, Mrs. Jos- |
