Show Ephraim Suffers A j $100,000 Fire Loss( " Fire, which broke out in the j moving picture theater at Eph- .;. jC raim last night at 10:30 do- j stroyed property estimated at over $100,000. The theater X building. Bracken's store, the X bakery and a shoe shop, were totally destroyed. The fire X started during a picture show performance and none were hurt in escaping from the burn- X ing building. It is thought, ac- cording to reports received ; here, that one of the films be- came ignited. The flames X spread rapidly afler once start- j ed but a panic among. the thea- : ter-goers was averted by cooler X heads. X When the fire was discover- ed and it became known that the fire department at Ephraim would be unable to combat the flames word was sent to Mount : Heasant and Manti for help, X J The response was quick and for this reason the entire business ! section was saved. A butcher X shop, where ammonia is used, barely escaped the flames, and X should the flames have reached .j : there an explosion would have resulted and no doubt would have proven disastrous. By he- roic efforts the shop was saved. ; According to reports late 4 this morning there were no fa- 4 talities. ! |
