Show Legionnaires Win In Fast Ball Game With a score of 7 to 6, and the Gunnison Legionnaires leading, Gunnison Gun-nison and Salina fans witnessed a hotly contested game on the local 1 diamond last Sunday afternoon when : Gunnison and Salina crossed bats. It looked a bit "skittish" for the Legionnaires Le-gionnaires and odds were against them until the fifth inning when the start was made. At this time the locals lo-cals hopped onto Orlando Crane's curves and when the dust had cleared in that frame Gunnison had passed the home plate for five scores. In the eighth two more were landed and that, ended the fracas as far as Gunnison was concerned in the scdre getting business. Hoff was in the box for Gunnison and his performance, assisted as-sisted by his teammates, was clever. Albert Newman, the "Earl Shee-ley" Shee-ley" of Southern Utah, stamped his name in the Babe Ruth class when he clouted the ball for a circuit I around the diamond. It was Newman's New-man's first home-vun for the season. Orlando Crane and his bunch from Salina put up a snappy game and started out in old-time form. The; visitors rounded out scores in the j second and third innings and in the: fourth added four more, making their total six for the game. Six errors er-rors were credited to them and only for this the final word would have.' been different. Following is the score: Salina. R. H.E.: L. Christensen, 2b 1 2 1 Gates, 3b 1 0 0 j 0.
