Show Sugar Officials Visit Colorado "The outlook for the sugar production produc-tion in Colorado, more especially the northern section, where the largest factories are located, gives great promise, and it is predicted that the yield this year will surpass any previous pre-vious one in this branch of industry," indus-try," said W. E. Smith, office manager for the Gunnison Valley Sugar company. com-pany. Mr. Smith, in coupany with W. Harvey Ross, returned the fore part of the week from an auto tour through the northern part of Colorado, Colo-rado, whither they had gone to study conditions and to familiarize themselves them-selves with the present-day methods of manufacture of beet suga"r".- "We Visited mine .different factories," fac-tories," said Mr. Smith, "and I want to say that we were highly pleased with what we saw. All the factories are up-to-the-minute concerns, and each one is planning on a record run during the coming fall campaign. Another noticeable feature was the spirit of the beet growers in backing up the big institutions that have been the prime factors in building up the several communities. Through this course of co-operation the several sev-eral communities are real modern ones. Each town has paving, up-to-date business houses, public libraries, libra-ries, parks, and an air of prosperity prevails everywhere." Mr.-Smith reports crops, in other sections and other than the beet crop, as looking splendidly and the sister state gives promise of establishing estab-lishing a wonderful record this year. |
