Show Two Gunnison Boys Admit Many Thefts Worden McMillan and Albert McMillan, Mc-Millan, both of this city, were arrested arrest-ed last Tuesday by Marshal Tollcs-trup Tollcs-trup on a complaint made by J. H. Herre. The boys were charged with entering the home of Mr. Ferre and stealing fishing tackle, canned goods, a ffun. three watches, and numerous other articles. The boys were taken before Juvenile Juve-nile Judge A. O. Nielson Tuesday afternoon and confronted with the charges. They made a confession, admitting they had taken all the property, excepting the watches. On recommendation for leniency and this j being their first appearance before the court, they escaped being committed com-mitted to the State Industrial school at G'gden. In addition to being severely se-verely lectured, the boys were assessed asses-sed fines by Judgs Nielson. The elder boy was fined $20 while the younger escaped with a $10 fine. The youngsters were also instructed to pay Mr. Ferre $25.00 to compensate compen-sate for the property stolen. Neither of the boys are working and to make it easy the court will allow them to pay $5 each month. They were cautioned, however, that failure to meet the payments will mcpn a term at the industrial school. Worden McMillan, the elder of the two, was given permission to go to Dividend, where he will work with i his father. Mrs. McMillan and Word, en left for the mining camp yesterday yester-day morning. |
