Show Hammer or Horn? By Pail E. Nelson. ' It is comparatively easy to find flaws in another person's work; to find out the mistakes after the task has been completed and to show the improvements that might have been made. There are always people who can tell anyone who will listen, just how big a failure has been made and what they would have done under the same circumstances. You do not have to use a fine tooth comb to find such people either, and yet you seldom hear of them accomplishing anything worth while or even offering to help If some one has performed a fine piece of service, with no flaws to be found in the work, instead of giving credit where credit is due they will go back of the good deed in order to cast slurs on the motive of the doer. How much better it would be to find the good in deed or motive, to praise rather than to find fault, to 53y a good word where possible and to remain silent where nothing but ill eaa be spoken, unless principle or righteousness demands that wespeak. In other words, boostl Boost means to to push up, not to pull down. Boosting means helping to a desired de-sired end, to success; not putting difficulties in the way. f you cannot help ahead, at least don't hold back, Quit knocking, "throw away your hammer and buy a horn." |
