Show Court Notes Benjamin R. Johnson of Mt. Pleasant Pleas-ant and Frank F. Pyott of Ephralm, both doctors of chiropractic were tried before he district court on September Sep-tember 18, 19 and 20, on the charge of practicing medicine without holding a lawful certificate or license from the state board of examiners, and found guilty by the jury sitting on the case as charged in the information. informa-tion. Mr. Johnson and Mr. Pyott appear7 ed before the court again on Monday morning, September 25, at 10 o'clock, at which time the court imposed a fine of $100.00 on each of the defendants, defen-dants, and if in default of the payment pay-ment of said fine that they be imr prisoned in the county jail for a period of 100 days. Mr. Johnson has chosen the latter and will take up his abode at the county seat as a special guest of Sher- j iff J. M. Burns for 100 days, while Mr. Pyott seemingly appreciates more fully the sweets of liberty. Much interest was manifested in the case which was ably prosecuted by District Attorney J. W. Cherry and George Christensen, county attorney, and defended by Dilworth Woolley of Manti and Thomas Morris, a member of the bar from the state cf Wisconsin. |
