Show CENTERFIELD. Sept. 27 The seventh and eighth grades of the Lincoln school spend tomorrow a considerable distance up Twelve-mile canyon for study of nature na-ture and botany. William Thompson, bishop of Scipio ward, with his wife and daughter Myrtle has spent the past few days in Centerfield the guest of his daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. E. H. Bardsley. Last Sunday In priesthood meeting it was decided to purchase a new piano pi-ano for the ward. A house to house canvass for subscriptions has been undertaken today by W. R. Jensen, Jen-sen, assisted by Fred J. Fjeldsted of Gunnison who did so splendidly in bringing our musical talent forward The portion which came to this ward from the recent music festival that Mr. Fjeldsted gave was a little better bet-ter than $42 and will be applied toward to-ward the piano fund. John Hansen has accepted a call for a mission to the Northern States and will leave from Salt Lake about the 18th of October. A farewell party will be tendered Mr. Hansen before his departure. He is a son of P. C. Hansen. Leo Bardsley, who has been taking a summer course at the Utah university univer-sity spent last week with his parents at Centerfield and left again Sunday to begin his third year course at the U. of U. Schools are doing good work. The Lincoln took a half holiday last Friday Fri-day to afford opportunity for a visit to the county fair at Manti. |
