Show Plans Complete For The Big ' Celebration City Will Open Doors to the Throngs of Visitors at "Soldier Welcome" On Natal Day Program The stage is rapidly being set for j the biggest and best celebration ever held in Sanpete county at Gunnison I on the Fourth of July when the citi-j zens will do homage to the returned j soldiers, sailors and marines. Tho: several committees having arrange-1 ments in charge have completed the program, which will include exercises at the Bowery, sports and races on Main street, ball game and boxing contest at the city park. It will be a safe and sane celebration insofar as pyrotechnical displays are concerned con-cerned but "cut loose" in any other oth-er respect the town will be yours and if you don't have a good time see some of the committeemen. Adjutant-General Fred Jorgensen of Ephraim will be one of the out side visitors and General jorgensen is scheduled for an address. Arrangements Arrange-ments are also being made for sellers sell-ers from outside to deliver addresses and there will be something doing every minute of the day from sunrise until late at night. Following is the program for the day's festivities: Salute at sunrise. Serenade by Band 6 a. m. Soldiers' Drill on Main street 9:30 a. m. Parade to Bowery Line pf March Band, Soldier Boys, Red Cross officers of-ficers and members, citizens. Program at Bowery 10: SO Mayor Knighton, Master of Cere monies. No entrance, en-trance, fee will be charged and the contests are open to all. |
