Show EX-SENATOR PATTERSON DEAD. Was Widely Known as Editor, Attorney Attor-ney and Political Leader. Denver. Thomas M. Patterson, former for-mer United States senator, died at his home here July 23. He was in his seventy-seventh year and had been in poor health for several weeks. Senator Patterson was widely known as an editor, attorney and political po-litical leader. He represented Colorado Colo-rado in the United States senate from 1S01 to 1907 and was for many years the owner and editor-in-chief of the Rocky Mountain News and the Den- ver Times. In the days of the Populist Popu-list party he was a national leader in the movement, and in later years was equally well known as a Democratic leader, by which party he was sent to the senate. His fortune, consisting largely of real estate holdings in Denver, Den-ver, is estimated by associates at several sev-eral millions. |
