Show TAKE CRACK AT HARRIMAN. Oregon Senators Charge Railroad King With Preventing Development. Develop-ment. Salem, Ore. Edward H. Harriman was given a verbal flaying in the Oregon Ore-gon state senate on Friday, after which that body adopted a resolution proposing the amendment of the state constitution so that the state may own and construct railroads. This resolution has already passed the house. Senators charged Mr. Harriman with preventing the development ot central Oregon, charged him with using obstructive tactics when the Hill lines were building the Spokane, Portland & Seattle railroad (North Bank road) down the Columbia river, and accused him of considering central cen-tral Oregon his private domain. |
