improvements for D. & R. G. Denver. Vice-President C. H. Schlacks of the Denvet & Rio Grande railroad announces that between $3,-000,000 $3,-000,000 and $5,000,000 will be expended ex-pended by that road in improvements. Mr. Schlacks has just returned from a conference with the officials of the road in the east. Among the improvements improve-ments are the building of a new union station at Salt Lake, the enlarging of the terminal facilities at Grand Junction, Junc-tion, Colo., the double tracking of portions por-tions of the line in both Colorado and Utah, and the purchase of thirty new locomotives.
