Show BEAR RIVER CITY. Newsy Briefs Crop Prospects Harnessing Har-nessing the Bear. The grain prospects in tins vicinity vici-nity are very poor and unless rain soon comes will be almost a total failure. The lucern crop is fair. C. M. Nicholsen has built a neat frame addition to his house. Workmen are busy building a commodious brick residence for J. K. Green. Work on our meeting house is progressing slowly but steadily. It is hoped to have the walls up and the building roofed by next fall. The wind mill lately erected by Ole Jen son it running successfully. It pumps water from Bear River and can furnish water for a good sized garden patch. Pound-keeper Peter Iversen is kept busy nowadays writing out estray notices. The estniy law ;e being vigorously enforced. Most of our young men are off shearing sheep. One company of them had gone to Soda Springs. The schooU in this district will soon close; there are three still open, and all have spent a successful success-ful year. Miss Ifulen Thompsen has gone to Salt Lake City, to be absent for some time.
