Show SEVEN DAYS. Tho re-telling of the Rinehart-IIopwood tale of a quaiantined house with its dinner paity guests, the policeman, the burglar and the fair divorcee, at the Theatre the first half of the week put rather a heavy burden on the fun originally written into the comedy by its authors. au-thors. Wo have nover had a really first-class production pro-duction of "Seven Days," though that of last season was better than its presentation this week. Mediocrity in a company offering comedy of the type of "Seven Days" usually results in more or less of a mess, and the players who were at the Theatre the first of the week possessed pos-sessed collectively and individually but little talent. Grace Valentine, stilkingly pretty and vivacious, carried the brunt of the work and with the help of one or two others kept the play going, though on rather shaky legs. The action was inexcusably slow and the company gave every evidence of needing a competent stage manager. |
