Show The State Fair THE State Fair that has been running through the week has been very much superior su-perior to any previous one. The live stock I is superb. There has been there one imported 1 Jersey cow and her calf, and to look at the two one is struck with the difference, which shows at i a glance how superior the soil and the sunshine f of Utah is to those of the fair island, kissed by ' the soft breezes which float in from across the , Gulf stream, where it has been supposed that Jersey cows reach perfection. The short horns, the white face3, the Holsteins and Jerseys at the fair are superb. The heavy breeds of horses are in full evidence; evi-dence; the mining exhibit is a distinct feature; the character of grain from both dry farming and irrigated lands is of the best; the fruit display cannot be equaled; the vegetables are simply a wonder. The Agricultural College and Experiment Sta- ' tion give full evidence of their value to the state. The agricultural and mining machinery exhibit is altogether fine. The whole fair gives amplo evidence of the possibilities of Utah. At the same time the managers cannot have v too much praise for the amount of work they have performed to make the fair the unqualified suocess that it surely is. |
