Show W W 9 "THE THREE OF US." There is little in Rachel Crothers' story that is of dramatic worth or even entertaining. It hasn't even the saving grace of being melodramatic. melo-dramatic. Miss Adair has had the only real opportunity of the week in the characterization of Rhy MacChesney. She did pretty nearly all that was possible with the role but she fell far short of the mai'k set by her portrayal of Mrs. Barrington in "Wildfire." Elizabeth Ross as Maggie, the Irish cook, offers one of her enjoyable enjoy-able character interpretations. Mr. Durkin does a good deal more for Stephen Townley than the author did. Averaging it up "The Three of Us" is one of the poorest plays the Garrick has yet staged. |
