Show Among all the public Institutions in Utah, none "flnfl is more delightfully situated or better managed 'HHi than the State Mental Hospital at Provo. Dr. D. IHH H. Calder, its efficient superintendent, takes a vital and absorbing interest in each individual 'B case as it comes under his supervision, neglect- flH ing nothing to make a thorough study of every 'Hh case with infinite desire to effect a cure, where 'H possible, and In this effort ho is- ably seconded by jl a most, painstaking matron and efficient corps of iflH assistants. Even with an unusually largo influx :H of patients during the present year,' so beneficial 'lfl have been the lines of treatment followed .that 1 the number now in the hospital have decreased - materially since 1905 and the operating expenses 'H have also decreased proportionately. 'H The state of Utah is to be congratulated in :H the possession of so capable and thorough 'a su- H perintendont as Dr. Calder, who has rejected many opportunities of largely increased financial benefits in other lines of practice to devote his '.H time and skill to the treatment of the unfortu- ,H nates whose darkened lives must be spent within 'H the portals of the State Mental Hospital.
