Show His service in congress has had at least ono. beneficial effect upon Joseph Howell. When the Logan butcher made his first race for congressional congres-sional honors, it is said, the campaign manager was almost forced to deputize a squad of men to hold him down while a clean shirt was1 forced upon him, and he viewed personal adornment as a useless expense. He's different now. The Honorable Joseph, when in Salt Lake last week, wore a suit of clothes that were mado apparently by a fashionable fashion-able Washington tailor. His linen was immaculate; immacu-late; a diamond glistened in his rainbow scarf; he sported a pair of patent, leather Oxford shoes and silk hose. So far as his personal appearance goes Utah has no reason to be ashamed of her representative in congress. |
