To Whom It May Concern: Notice is hereby given that a special tax for the purpoBe of constructing a cement sidewalk side-walk six feet wide, on the oast side of Second Wast street, from Third North street to Fifth North street, In Sidewalk District No. 20, has been levied by the City Council and confirmed by ordinance dated August 15th, 1904. Said tax Is levied upon the following real property in Salt Lake City, to-wlt: All of lots 2, 3, 4 and 5. blbck 121, and all of lots 4 and 5, block 132, plat "A," Salt Lake City Survey, to a depth of twenty-flvo feet back from said streets, is payable in three equal Installments Install-ments and will become delinquent as follows: fol-lows: Said first Installment on September 16th, 1004; said second Installment on October Oc-tober 16th, 1904. and said third installment on November 15th, 1904. An ordlnaco amending and ro-onactlng Sections 382 and 383 of tho Revised Ordinances Ordi-nances of 1903 of Salt Lake City, Utah. Be it ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah: " Section L That Sections 382 and 383 of tho Revised Ordinances of 1903 of Salt Lake City, Utah, be, and the same hereby here-by are amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows: Section 382. It shall be unlawful for any person to carry on tho business of a pawnbroker, or tho business of loaning or advancing money, or check or draft for money on tho deposit or pledge or bailment of porsonal property of any kind as security for such loan or advancement, ad-vancement, or the business of loaning or advancing money or check or draft for money in any transaction or transactions In tho form of a sale of porsonal property prop-erty wherein tho porsonal property Involved, In-volved, under agreement, Is to be or may be repurchased by tho vendor, pledgor, bailor or depositor within an agreed time upon the payment of an agreed sum, or any sum in excess of the real sum so loaned or advanced, or the business of loaning or advancing money or check or draft for money upon a chattel mortgage or mortgages on porsonal property where the personal property Involved or any part of the same Is taken into the custody cus-tody or possession of the person advancing advanc-ing such money, or his agent or trustee, or tho business of loaning or advancing any money or check or draft for money upon any assignment or assignments, or pledge or pledges of earned or unearned salary, wages or earnings, or the business busi-ness of loaning or advanoing any money or check or draft for money upon any contract, undertaking or agreement which in tfubstanoe and effect assigns, pledges or binds the earned or unearned salary, wages or earnings of the borrower bor-rower as seourlty for such loan or advancement, ad-vancement, without previously having illllllllllllllllllllllllllllimiillllllllllllllllM obtained a license so to do In accordance ' with tho provisions hereinafter contained and set forth. Sootlon 383. Every person applying for a license as pawnbroker, shall, before receiving such license, pay Into tho City Treasury a license tax of one hundred (5100.00) dollars per annum (no such license li-cense to be Issued for a less period than six months), and shall, before receiving such license, enter Into a joint and separate sep-arate bond, with corporate surety to be approved by the Mayor, in the penal sum of one thousand ($1,000.00) dollars, conditioned condi-tioned for the faithful observance of all ordinances respecting pawnbrokers; provided, pro-vided, that tho license provided for in this section shall not permit the licensee to conduct the business of a merchant. An ordinance levying a tax and for the assessment of property on the east sldo of Second West street, between Third North and Fifth North stroets, In Sidewalk District No. 2, for the construction con-struction of a coment sldowalk. Bo It ordained by the City Council of Salt Lake City, Utah. Section 1. That the City Council does hereby levy tho tax and provide for the assessment of the same upon tho property prop-erty hereinafter described in Lots Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 6, block 121, and Lots 4 and b, Block 132, plat "A," Salt Lake City Survey, Sur-vey, abutting on tho cast side of Second West stroot, between Third North and Fifth North streets, in Sidewalk District No. 20, said porperty having a frontage of 1320 feet along said street This tax is levied to defray tho expense of constructing a cement sidewalk upon said portion of said street opposite the property hereinafter described to be especially es-pecially affected and benefited by said improvement, and it Is hereby adjudged, determined and established that the same will bo especially benefited thereby to the full amount of tho tax hereby lovled, and said parcels of land are hereby here-by assessed at an equal and uniform rate In accordance with the linear foot frontage front-age upon said portion of said street fronting upon and to a depth of twenty-five twenty-five (25) feet back therefrom, and the tax hereby levied and to bo assessed upon said parcels of land is one thousand five hundred and four and 80-100 (?1,601.8U) dollars, or one and 14-100 (J1.14) dollars per front or linear foot, which Is the estimated total cost and estimated cost per linear foot of said sidewalk, and the Treasurer is hereby authorized and directed di-rected to assess In accordance with the provisions of this ordinance for the purpose pur-pose herein mentioned, all of Lote 2, 3, 4 and 6, block 121, and all of Lots 4 and 5. block 132, Plat "A," Salt Lake City 'Survey, as the same are shown upon tho official plats of said City, to a depth of twenty-five (26) feet back from said street, and to collect said tax. Section 2. Said tax shall become and be delinquent as follows: One-third thereof shall become delinquent delin-quent in one month after the approval of this levy; one-third In two monthB after said approval, and one-third In three months after said approval.
