Show Another grievance against Mr. Davis is that, according to the statements of his enemies in the Fifth, his whole career in the Council has consisted con-sisted chiefly of posing and inactivity, outside of some clever political work on behalf of his henchman hench-man in the committee on waterworks, of which he is chairman. They say that his chief work has been in securing jobs for his friends in thp waterworks water-works department, and that he has shown very scant activity in matters of much more vital in- J terest to the taxpayers of the precinct. |
