Show THE COMING OF THE CONRIED OPERA CO. It is difficult to refrain from the use ot "superlatives "superla-tives in discussing a great musioal event scheduled for Salt Lake early in April. To be exact, thetdate is the evening" of April 4 In the Tabernacle. -The Conried Metropolitan Opera Company of New York City, with its world-famous stars, its chorus of 200 voices any one of which would entitle its owner to a leading part in the average opera company, com-pany, and its orchestra of sixty specially selected soloists, is coming to Salt Lake City. The bare statement should cause an anticipatory flutter of genuine pleasure wherever it is heard. But when it is known that Salt Lake is to hear Nordica and Homer and DIppel and Journet and Alten and DeMacchi all on the same programme, it would seem that nothing further could be desired. de-sired. The first part of the programme, presented present-ed herewith, will consist of arias by two of the best artists, a violin solo by Nathan Franko, who ranks as a master of that instrument, a number by the chorus and two numbers calculated to bring out the wonderful perfection of the orchestra. The second part of the programme will consist, as will be seen, of the first presentation In Salt Lake of the complete Rossini masterpiece, "Sta-bat "Sta-bat Mater." Nordica, Homer, Dippel and Journet will sing the solo, duet and quartette parts in this. A musician, reading over one day last week a copy of this programme, sighed and said: "Well, that will be about as close to heaven as I ever expect to get."
