Griffith, who recently returned from inspecting the Martha Washington company's property, expresses himself as highly pleased with both the present and future outlook of that property. prop-erty. He reports a good strike on the vein known as the Martha vein in the 250-foot level, from which they are sacking ore that runs as high as 00 to 100 ounces in silver to the ton. From this same level a winze was sunk to tap the Antelope , vein from which good ore is now being taken. ! & & f' The twenty-five eastern capitalists and busi- ness men who visited the Majestic company's property, are all of the or- opinion, which is de- I scribed very plainly in the treasurer, Mr. William i B. Mucklow's statement to the editor of the Mil- ford Times: "You may say that the financing of the Majestic company is now placed beyond pre- adventure or doubt. All of the money that may bo needed to develop and equip the properties is at our command." The party visited the smelter the Vicksburg, Harrington-Hickory, O. K., and Old Hickory, and were captivated by the magni- I tude and wealth of the mines. In the Old Hickory j alone there is enough ore in sight, the value of which will more than treble the entire capital stock of the Majestic company. & & A meeting of the shareholders of the Daly Mining Min-ing company was held last Monday and all of the old officers and directors were elected by a unanimous unan-imous vote. C. L. Rood is president and superintendent; super-intendent; David Mackenzie vice president; J. B. Haggin treasurer; W. R. Wightman, secretary. These along with George M. Scott and Charles Read form the board of directors for the ensuing year. In President Rood's report, read at the meet-, meet-, ing, he makes mention of the work done on the new shaft now being sunk on the Mezeppa claim of the company and says that at a depth of fifty I feet they passed through a vein formation five or six feet in width that in spots carried values ranging rang-ing from 175 ounces and G5 per cent lead to six and one-half ounces silver. Preparations are now ' being made so that further development can be carried on in this shaft. j . t The dynamo and other machinery necessary to complete the electric lighting plant for the Com- I stock mine has arrived at Park City and is being transferred to the mine as rapidly as possible. It is the intention of Manager Dusseldorf to have the lighting plant in operation by the time the large mill, which is nearing completion, starts treating ore. & vJC tj On Tuesday afternoon the annual meeting of the Daly-West Mining company was held at Den- ver, Colo., and all of the old board of directors t f was elected without opposition. Reports show , I that over one million dollars in dividends were Jj paid during the previous year, and still leaves a fy balance of over $250,000 in the treasury.
