Show Tenants Sought For New, Affordable Homes in Tropic Color Country Community Housing, Inc. (CCCHI) and Utah Housing Corporation (UHC) are excited to announce that six new affordable CROWN (rent-to-own) homes in Tropic are almost ready for families to move into. "This is a wonderful opportunity opportu-nity for families of modest incomes and some with credit problems, to live in and eventually eventu-ally own a home of their own," commented city council mem- ber Gaya Greenhalgh. These brand-new homes are three and four bedroom houses that will rent for $471 and $510 per month, respectively. The homes are available for the ten-' ant to purchase in 15 years The time period is 15 years due to the subsidies that reduce the rents and future sales price of the home. In the CROWN program, pro-gram, a portion of the tenanti's monthly payment pays down the mortgage on the house. That monthly pay down of the mortgage, mort-gage, plus the use of other public pub-lic subsidies, allows the home to be sold at an affordable price in fifteen years. "CROWN is a great program for families that cannot qualify for a mortgage to get into a home today. For fifteen years that family will have the benefit of living in a quality home with . affordable payments,., and use that time to prepare to buy the home in fifteen years," said Ty Tippets, Executive Director for CCCHI. ' CCCHI and UHC are both nonprofit organizations with the primary purpose of providing affordable housing to low-income low-income families in Utah. Anyone interested in applying apply-ing to rent one of the CROWN homes should contact Linda Bringhurst as soon as possible at 435-673-3131.
