Show Tropic JuitT" Lowell and Margaret Mecham have been married for 43 years and finally took a vacation and flew to Hawaii to the island of Oahu. Margaret's sister and husband Joan and Bob Winger of Salt Lake City accompanied them. They saw some of the famous sites of Pearl Harbor, . Ioloni Palace, Aquarium, Dole Plantation, Volcano Park, Kona Temple and Laie LDS Temple, Polynesian Cultural Museum, did a luau, and stayed with her brofher-in-law;s family and attended the .baptism of Ryan Chapman. The Chapmans live at Scofield Barracks and are in the service there. Rella Alvey celebrated her ?? birthday last week. Her daughter Florence Syrett Rella and her sister, Janet Pollock to Cedar City to do the celebrating. They brought Louise Ott back with them. Rella entertained some of her children who came to Tropic to wish her a happy birthday. Those were Carol Cloward of West Valley City and Kim Alvey and friend from Richfield. Janet Pollock also had her daughter Jackie Blais spend the night again at her place. Janet and Jeannie visited with Joe and Anita Pollock in LaVerkin last week. Louise Ott came over to Tropic to help Bob and Mira Loy Ott celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary. Bob Jo and Randi Ott hosted the Saturday festivities with about 60 family members in attendance. The variety of food and cakes were delicious. Sara Little-field Little-field was able to come over from the care center for the evening. Clay and Rebecca Wagstaff enjoyed having his parents, Fred and Dyan Wagstaff of Wallsburg, Utah, and his grandmother Ida Wagstaff of Alpine help celebrate Miriam Wagstaffs first birthday. Also attending the event was Rebecca;s family, Matt and Virginia Wetzel and Duztin and Sarah Sorenson and children of Henrieville, and the Sunderland family of Tropic; This week the Wagstaffs have enjoyed a week's visit from their friends David and Jolien Duff and their four children from Oregon. Lynn Munson spent some time in Utah Valley Hospital for some surgery and also fell and broke her hip. We hope Lynn will recover soon and be back home with us. Brandon Johnson has finished his job in Phoenix and has come home for the summer to stay with his parents and continue his summer job with the BLM. Debbie Cantu reported that the girls combined seventh and eighth grade basketball team spent the night in Gunnison and then played three games on Saturday with their only loss to Delta. |
