Show cnmwnviuu nuivs By Marva Fletcher 679-8521 A restful and pleasant Christmas is now drawing to a close and it has been wonderful with visits with loved ones both , . in person and on the telephone. I hope Santa was as generous to ; all of you as he was to us. It has ' . been quite a season with parties and family get-togethers, climaxed cli-maxed by a special Cannonville LDS Ward Christmas program depicting the birth of the Savior by the Ward Primary children and some adults. It really ' brought the occasion into true' ' focus. Of course Santa was. there to pass out goodies to all of the children and oranges and ' good wishes to everyone. Many were blessed to have i'-'- family members here for the '' holidays. Larry and Glenna Fletcher 1 ' had daughter, Gail and sons '' Richard and Bryce here from ' 1 Provo where they are employed. . Many of the Scoffields from ' California and Idaho visited here with parents and grandpar-i grandpar-i 1 ents Bill and Cheri Scoffield. ' ' At the home of Tom and Gay Shakespeare were four of their 1 six children with their families. ' Visiting were Todd and Crystal 1 Shakespeare; Jeff and Tracy Shakespeare; Tim and Cherish Willyerd and son, Carter of Salt Lake City; Brook and Heidi ' ' Shakespeare and their little red-; red-; 1 headed twins, Sam and Shianne : ' of Logan. Kay Dunham and Louise Mangum went to Ephraim and spent two days with Lace Walker. They cleaned her apart-' apart-' ment and did last minute shop-' shop-' ping, then brought Lace home 1 for the holidays. Patrick and Cindy Clarke and " family came from Pueblo, Colo. '" and spent last weekend with Jim and Erma Clarke. John and Ramona Morreale went to Salt Lake City this week, accompanied by family members Jacob, Raphael, Charlene and Christine. They attended the LDS sealing of their son, Jeremy Mathew Moss to Sara Jenkens Moss in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They also attended the production "Savior of the World" and finished last minute Christmas shopping. They reported it a wonderful trip. Josie Comp, daughter of Bishop Joey and wife, Colleen Comp was baptized and confirmed con-firmed a member of the LDS church Sunday afternoon in Tropic. LDS High Council member, Jerry Roundy and wife, Sherry visited Cannonville Ward on Sunday. Rosa Lee Thompson was the youth speaker, a beautiful beauti-ful vocal solo was rendered by Emilee Clark and Roundy was the concluding speaker. He gave a beautiful talk on the birth, life and ministry of the Savior. Arjean and Cherlyn Twitchell came from St. George to spend Christmas with Vaughn and Mae Twitchell. Vaughn is home also from the temple for the holidays. holi-days. Daniel Thompson is spending the holidays here with his parents, par-ents, Joe and Trish Thompson. He is attending SUU in Cedar City. Rosie Fletcher took her mom, Marva Fletcher to Cedar City to spend last week at her home, then came to spend Christmas here. We didn't hear of the tragic trag-ic accident that claimed the life of Troy Riffel until we got back home and read it in the Garfield County News. We were shocked and saddened and want to express our sincere sympathy to Mike and Katheryn and their family. Congratulations to Clint and Stephanie Brinkerhoff on the birth of a new little son who was born Dec. 1 6. He has two brothers broth-ers and a sister who are very proud of him. Grandparents are Steve and Verjean Clark and Raymond and Ronelda Brinkerhoff. Great-grandmothers are Ora Brinkerhoff and Mary Etta Chynoweth. |
