Henry and Tanya Thomas had a busy but enjoyable weekend of May 3rd. They took time off from their automotive business to travel to West Jordan to attend the blessing of a grandson, Wyatt Wade Hailstone, son of Hollie and Kelly Hailstone, then on to Roy for the baptism of granddaughter Andie Thomas, by her father, Mike Thomas, then back to South Jordan to attend the 7th birthday party for Alexandria Reber (another granddaughter, I hope) where they enjoyed cake and ice cream and participated in a treasure hunt. (This is the first time I have heard of treasure hunts for many years. Back in the 20's, 30's and 40's there was a treasure. treas-ure. hunt going on somewhere in town whenever it was warm enough for a bonfire. Remember?) Travelers, Vermon and Catherine Barney were on the road again last week to Bozeman, Mont., supposedly to see a new great-grandson; however, how-ever, they also managed to attend a Jazz game with their son, Craig Barney, who lives in Bozeman. On their way home they stopped in Salt Lake City to visit with Catherine's sister, Margaret Tingey. Neither Margaret nor her husband, Ralph, are enjoying very good health at this time. Since both Vermon and Catherine love watching their grandchildren participate in various var-ious sports, they have also spent some time in Cedar City, Kanab, and St. George where some of their grandchildren were partici-pateing partici-pateing in various sporting events. '. -' Neilene Heywood had her son, Bruce and family visiting with her recently. Bruce and Reta Heywood and their chil- . ; dren live in Fallon, Nev.. Their son Timothy graduated from Southern Utah University May 3, so the family came for graduation gradu-ation as well as to visit with his mother and sister, Annette, and ; other friends and relatives. All attended the graduation exercises exercis-es in Cedar City. I don't like to write about myself, but since news was scanty and Evalyn and I had an enjoyable weekend, I am going to tell you about it. Friday,- we traveled to Provo and stayed the night with my sister Ardith Davis. That evening we enjoyed a family dinner with sisters, brothers and in-laws, Joe and Colleen Marshall, Jean Marshall (Dons wife Don is '. in California helping turn one of '. his books into a movie), Barbara ; Willies, Ardith, and us. The ' next morning we drove to ; Centerville to participate in the blessing of our eighth greatgrandchild, great-grandchild, Ashley Celeste Roe, daughter of Ron and Linda Roe. Our son, Russell, and one of his daughters and a granddaughter flew out from Omaha to take part in the blessing. All four of Ashley's great-grandfathers were present. We all gathered at Ron's home in Centerfield for a nice lunch after church. We took lots of fourth-generation pictures pic-tures and I figured that if I can hang out for nine more years, I may get a fifth-generation photo. (Our oldest grandchild is 12.)
