Show By Marva Fletcher 679-8521 It is with some relief that I submit the news this week. The past few weeks the health of some of our dear friends and neighbors has ranged from "critical" "crit-ical" to "darned distressed or uncomfortable." Well, some conditions have improved today. So to begin with, after many weeks spent in Salt Lake City, much of that time at LDS Hospital, Mel and Phyllis Beard are back in their home here and it was so good to visit with them this morning. Neither of them came home totally unscathed. Mel has some serious recuperating recuperat-ing to do and both of them need rest and recuperation but they have proven that they can handle han-dle pretty much what fate deals out to them. We are all happy to have them back home again. Also more positive news. Golden Johnson said that surgery sur-gery was performed on the shoulder of wife, Roxanna on Apr. 29. She is home now with less pain and is doing much better. bet-ter. We are happy for her. Intense pain like she was having is pretty hard to endure. Diana Mathews and Louise Mangum went to St. George one day last week and visited with David and Andrea Mathews and family and with Joe and Aloha Mathews and their children. They went out to dinner with Diana's son, Lloyd Mathews who is working down there. We just learned of the death of a friends and former resident, Elna Mangum Bryant. She lived in Salt Lake City and is the daughter of the late Ernest and Elva Mangum. Desmond and Gretha Twitchell went to Beaver on Sunday for the blessing of their great-great grandson, Cooter Wade Gale, son of Wade and Pepper Gale. He is the grandson of Alfred and Toni Foster and great-grandson of Darreld and Mary Lou Nielson. All of the grandparents attended the meeting meet-ing and they enjoyed a lovely family dinner afterwards. Larry and Glenna Fletcher went to Provo to attend the graduation grad-uation of their daughter, Gail, who received her diploma in massage therapy technology. It was held in the Provo LDS Tabernacle. Afterwards, they along with daughters, Diann and Gail, son Bryce Fletcher, Christina Moss and friend Fatima, went to Chuck-a-Rama for dinner. We had a couple of light showers of rain along with lots of promising dark clouds that failed to produce. But we will keep our hopes high. On Easter weekend, Bill and Bonnie Nelson were visited by Marie Alvey, Clint and Jolene Pollock and family and June Ann Miller. Larry and Glenna Fletcher had family members at their home last weekend. Diane, Gail and Bryce Fletcher came from Provo and brought their friend, Fatima with them. They all enjoyed the family festivities. George and Teresa Thompson and children, Mikki, Chelsea and Shan flew to Seattle, Wash, to spend Spring break visiting their sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Arnold DeWalt. They went sight-seeing, spent a day on Victoria Island BC, they rode the ferry and stayed on the, (See CANNONVILLE on pg. 4) Cannonville From Page 3A island overnight. The saw Snohomish Falls and the beautiful beauti-ful tulip fields, miles of them, grown commercially to sell the blooms and bulbs. They spent a day in Seattle sight seeing, went to see the space needle and returned home Sunday and a good time was had by all. |
