Show Moser Appointed President Of Rural Health Assoc. Of Utah CEDAR CITY Former Panguitch Pan-guitch resident, Dennis Moser, was recently elected as president of the . newly formed Rural Health Association Asso-ciation of Utah (RHAU) at meetings meet-ings held in Richfield. RHAU was created and. formed by individuals from all over the state and incorporates incorpo-rates a mission to "provide a unified voice to promote and enhance the quality of rural health through leadership, lead-ership, advocacy, coalition building, build-ing, education, and to effect policy and legislation." Moser, who was for many years employed at Garfield Memorial Hospital is currently center director of the Southwest Utah Area Health Education Center (AHEC) where he is instrumental in health professions profes-sions education and health care access ac-cess for the five-county southern Utah region. Through this involvement, in-volvement, Moser was led to the initial meetings of RHAU because he sees this organization "as a means to promote rural health issues is-sues as one strong united voice." The purpose of RHAU is to take and combine the knowledge and resources of its members to create cre-ate one powerful and effective voice for rural health care. "We already have a large number of members who are excited about this endeavor and have already agreed to be board and committee members. I foresee this organization becoming a leader in rural Utah health care in the near future," commented Moser. Also voted into leadership positions posi-tions by the current membership is Scott Truman, director of the Utah Center for Rural Life, as treasurer; Ada Morrell of the Wayne Community Com-munity Health Center was elected secretary. It was voted by the membership to house the organization organiza-tion with the Utah Center for Rural Life on the campus of Southern Utah University. Any individual who has an interest in-terest or leadership role in rural health care is encouraged to join the Rural Health Association of Utah. The next meeting is being planned for February, an will incorporate an annual conference. Members are still putting the. finishing touches on the organization's bylaws and there are still openings for committee commit-tee positions.
