Show : ; PHS Bobcats Head For SemVs Undefeated By Pat Dix ;' PANGUITCH - Monday's ; - : 18 to 1 drubbing of Wendover ; -; insured the Bobcats a spot in Friday's upcoming semi-finals, probably against last year's opponents, Westridge. A win at -; Friday's semi-finals at Southern - Utah University (SUU) in Cedar City will send the 'Cats to the state finals, also at SUU. The Bobcats' hit parade on Monday was led by Zach Orton who pounded out three doubles and a single to go four-for-four. Tyler Barney chipped in two doubles and drove in five runs and Tyler Pollock drove in five runs with a three-for-four-day. Wendover respected the power of catcher Rawley Burningham so much that they walked him intentionally all four times he came to the plate. Also joining the slugfest were Landon Eldridge with two-for-four and Designated Hitter Kyle Bateman with a three-for-four-day. Ford Stewart pitched three no-hit, no-run innings for the win and Zach Orton and Cameron Leach cleaned up the next two innings. With this win the 'Cats improve to 21 and 0 for the sea son. On Friday, Oct. 1, the Panguitch Baseball Bobcats closed out the Region 15 season with a double header victory over the Wayne Badgers. In game one, Rawley Burningham hurled a three-hit, seven-inning shutout. In game two, the Bobcats' bats came alive as they pounded out 18 runs, featuring a blast over the left field fence by Zach Orton, to support the pitching performances of Ford Stewart, Zach Orton and Brady Barney who came in to pitch a perfect final inning. |
