I just hope this is a sign that we will get lots of moisture this winter to help make up for the dry winters we've been having. hav-ing. Hunters have been coming in from their camps, without any meat, saying that the weather is too wet and there aren't any spike elk to be had. Can anyone tell a different story? Jerry and Sherree Roundy recently took a group on a tour to Branson, Mo. They were gone for nine days. Included in the group, from Escalante or with Escalante ties, were: Ray and Lois Barney, Sandra Porter, Clem and Joyce Griffin, Vernon and Peg Roundy, Jim and Jolyn Spencer, Alvin and Joan Cowles, Gerald and Sylvia Haycock, Carlyle and Barbara Shurtz, Ken and Roma Clark, Sherree's son and daughter-in-law Darrell and Rose Spencer, Jerry's daughter and son-in-law Melanie and Clay Kunz and Jerry's nephew Rodney Roundy. Vergean and Carolyn Porter recently received a' telephone call from their grandson, Matthew Porter, Midvale. He was announcing that he had received his LDS mission call to London, England. His brother, Landon, is serving in the LDS Estonia, Baltic Sea Mission. They are the sons of Sloan and Veralynn Porter. Vergean and Carolyn also have a granddaughter, grand-daughter, who left just three weeks ago, who will be serving an LDS mussion in Manchester, England. She is a daughter of Kevin and Shelley Porter, Parowan. News always gets scarce in winter time, so I surely would appreciate a call from those of you who have news to share. |
