Show MMMXimS By Earl Roe 676-2376 wearlroeyahoo.com It has been many years since we have had one of these old "Fall Sizzle-Sozzles" like we are experiencing at the present time. I hope that this is an indication indi-cation that our prolonged drought is finally drawing to a close! Pat Oetting has agreed to round up the manpower to again have a community Christmas ' Tree, but we lack a tree. If any-' one in our community has a pine (spruce, fir) tree they would like removed and if it is suitable for this purpose, please Call Pat at 676-2413. (Remember the old days when we had the large Community Tree in the center of the intersection of Main and Center? Alas, "progress" has made this impossible.) Last week, Verl Chidester and David Orton serving as drivers transported a large group of our Senior Citizens to St. George to attend the LDS Temple. They made the usual stops on the way home except for the stop at the Pit Stop in Parowan for an ice cream treat. This stop was a must when I used to be a driver and the ladies had the money collected and the orders written, op by the time we reached the Drive-Up window. Rick and Karen Swanger and Allen and Jeannie Henrie decided they needed a break from their daily routine so they took a trip to Yellowstone Nat'l. Park for a four-day stay. Karen said they had a wonderful time viewing the beautiful scenery en-route and visiting the many natural wonders inside the park. Hazel Cameron enjoyed having hav-ing the children of Kern and Grace Owens (both deceased) as visitors recently. Kay and Gene Owens, Mesa, Ariz.; Susan and Calvin Allred, Tucson, Ariz.; and Caroline Parkinson were in Panguitch for a few days cleaning clean-ing up the yard around the family fami-ly home and getting the home ready to sell. This is one task that is sometimes hard to do as it brings back too many fond memories and is like cutting the final string that can draw you back' to where those memories were formed. Alice Henrie and her daughter-in-law, Bonnie Henrie (feel ing adventurous) decided to join a group on an All Woman Mystery Trip. They did not know where they were going until they received their boarding board-ing passes at the Salt Lake Airport where they learned their destination was Philadelphia and the surrounding area.' During their three night, four-day four-day excursion they visited the historic sites in Philadelphia, took a night walking tour which included a visit to a beautiful flower garden and a very colorful color-ful water fountain display. Leaving Philadelphia, they spent a night in Lancaster where they enjoyed attending the musical, musi-cal, "Gypsy" as well as visiting the regular tourist attractions. From Lancaster they traveled to York (Amish Country) where they enjoyed a dinner in an Amish home. The highlight of their stay in York was attending a huge, beautiful theatre where they enjoyed a presentation of "The Story of Noah". They watched the building of the Ark and following a brief intermission intermis-sion they found themselves in the Ark while all of the different animals came aboard. Alice said they were dumbfounded when they saw that these were real live animals including lions, tigers, horses, etc. During their first group gathering where everyone told who they were and where they were from, Alice had one of the ladies approach her to tell her that one of her neighbors was a Henrie originally from Panguitch. When Alice asked for their name, she found that it was her son Val and his wife. (Another. "Panguitch Connection.") Alice said it was really a fun and exciting four days.
