She is home now and is recuperating, and would love to have cards or phone calls to cheer her up. We hope she is soon feeling better. Shirley Haycock is improving improv-ing each day and hopes to come home soon. She has been transferred trans-ferred to the Kolob Care Center and will receive further treatment treat-ment there. She wants to get home in time to be at her grandson grand-son Josh Cox's missionary farewell Sandra Cox says her mother will come no matter what. Josh is going to Fukuoka, Japan to serve on his mission. Shirley our thoughts are with you and hope you will soon be feeling better and able to come home very soon. Jean and Spring Seiler had a wonderful time working at the Olympics. Jean was working in the Garfield Travel Council booth. Rubys Inn sponsored the booth and Jean was in charge. The booth was found inside the Utah Travel Council Media Center. Jean basically spent his whole day at the display and enjoyed meeting and working with the many visitors who stopped at the booth. Spring Seiler worked as a performing talent and stage manager assistant. assis-tant. She was able to work with all the performers from the area, on the parade and helped the performers find their way to the stage from the green room. Spring said she did a lot of walking and that it was very cold, but exciting. She worked with the people from the Disney Studios who came to help with the talents and organization of the events. The people from Disney were very impressed with the youth of Utah and said they were easy to work with One of the married couples said meeting the youth of Utah gave them hope for raising a family of their own someday. Jon and Jake, sons of Jean and Spring, went up one of the weekends and were able to see many things. Their parents had secured tickets to the "Smash Mouth" concert, a medals ceremony, cere-mony, and "The Light of the World" presentation put on by the LDS Church in the old Hotel Utah Building. They had a great time. Wes, Ellen, Mallory, Parker, arid Megan Clarke also took time to go up and look at the booths and displays for the Olympics. They enjoyed walking walk-ing around and seeing everything every-thing there. Ron Harris was a volunteer with the Park City Fire Department as an EMT and a fireman. He said he had a lot of fun and also enjoyed working in the Garfield Travel Council booth Ron got to meet a lot of the athletes and especially was happy to meet Rudy Guilianni, New York City ex-mayor, and have his picture taken with many of them. It was a very exciting time. Everyone who has ever had to use the services of Ron and his wife Susan are very lucky to have such professional and talented tal-ented EMT's around. Garfield County is very lucky to have the fine people we have serving as EMTs every one of them who are so willing to serve and give of their time to the people in the county. Brad and Yolanda Cowan blessed their baby son, Cameron Toleby Cowan, on Sunday, Mar. 3.. The baby is very cute and the proud grandparents are David and Kathryn Pollock of Tropic and Dave and Jackie Cowan of Salt Lake City. Those who took time to attend the blessing were Shawn, Mary, and Shawnee Pollock of Cedar City, Kenny, Michelle, JD. and Sami Pollock of West Jordan, Derrick, Laura and Oakley Pollock of Panguitch, Sheldon Pollock of Cedar City, Mark Lindsey, Bailey and Gracie Cowan of Richfield, Sarah and Jim Alvord of Salt Lake City, Kevin and Natalie Cowan of Salt Lake City, and Susie Cowan of Salt Lake City. Everyone met after church for dinner, to visit, and to admire the newest member of their family. LaMar and Ethel Le Fevre are very excited to announce the birth of their first great-granddaughter, Kennedy Page Cluff, born in St. George to Monica and Jeff Cluff. Monica is the LeFevre's granddaughter. Their daughter Susan, is the first time grandmother. Ethel just happened hap-pened to be in St George visiting her sister the day the baby was born so she got to see her when she was brand new. LaMar and Ethel have great-grandsons, but this is their first great-granddaughter.. Ethel's brother Allen Clarke of Kearns came to stay Tropic From Page 2-A overnight with them and then the next day they all went to the funeral services for Boyd Henderson. Vertis and Lester Clarke's daughter, Diane and her husband Sherril Lamb, visited from Vernal. The Lamb's son, Stephen, just returned from his mission to Mexico, came along for the visit with his grandparents. grandpar-ents. He stayed with the Clarkes while his parents went to St George to attend meetings for principals. |
