Show Learn More About Utah's Endangered Wildlife Information about native Utah wildlife species and efforts being made to keep them off the Endangered Species list are highlighted in the latest edition of Species on the Edge. The 66-page, full-color, PDF-formatted PDF-formatted publication is available avail-able free of charge at the Division of Wildlife Resources' Web site "It seems like we're always hearing about endangered species problems on the Klamath, Rio Grande or the Platte rivers," said Reed Harris, recovery programs director with the Utah Department of Natural Resources. "In Utah, we hear about similar problems being solved on the Colorado, Green, Provo or Virgin rivers. "The difference is an active effort by Division of Wildlife Resources biologists, federal partners and local communities to help listed and sensitive species through projects funded by the state's Endangered Species Mitigation Fund," he said. "Different ways we can help species, protect the environment envi-ronment and allow communities to grow economically through cooperation and compromise are highlighted in the Species on the Edge publication." |
