Show PMlGUITCtl NB.-JS By Earl Roe 676-2376 wearlroeyahoo.com I am sure there were many former Panguitchites who came home for that Fall event of chasing chas-ing the "wiley buck," but when one does not have a permit for the first time since he was 16, one does not gather much news about the hunt. Kay and Ann Richards and son, Dave Richards, their daughter and her family, Leslie and Gerry Release and children, Larsen and Morgan of Salt Lake City; Robert, Nikki, and Jacob Richards of Gilbert, Ariz.; Jeff and Penny and daughters Brooklyn, River and London of Moab were joined by Ned Richards (Kay's brother) and sons, Frank and Bryan from Salt Lake City and Ned's daughter, Roylene of St. George for their annual try-to-get-their-deer hunt. The family home is their gathering point and Kay said that everyone had a wonderful time hunting in the beautiful fall weather and they even got a couple of bucks. Dick Haycock (class of 1940) and his son, Jack and grandson traveled from Sacramento, Calif, to try their luck but my last report was that they had to leave empty handed. Sorry folks, got the dates for the Symphony of the Canyons incorrect last week. It will be in December, watch for upcoming dates. Locally the only good report that I have had was that Ryan and Tammy Houston bagged a very nice buck in Grant's meadow. mead-ow. Only a two point, but with a 25-inch spread and weighed in the 200 pound range. On a lighter note, Kirk and LaVenda Moore were expecting their deer hunting friends from California here again, but when they came they found that their permits were for the northern region (second choice) instead of the southern region. So they had to pass Panguitch and head north. Ken and Judy Roe of Smithfield came down for a weekend. Ken came to work on the family home and Judy to give her folks (Art and Wenda Mae Tebbs) a hand at the Red Canyon Indian Store- Judy had to return to serve on jury duty in Salt Lake City, but Ken returned to finish the work on the home. Marilyn Veater and Marilyn Miller have departed for Florida where they will serve an LDS mission for their church. Marilyn Veater recently served a mission in Russia. Merle and Pauline Prince have received their LDS mission mis-sion call to serve in the Portland, Ore. area. They are first traveling travel-ing to Houston, Tex., Nov. 5, to spend some time with family members and upon returning home will enter the MTC. "If you lived here, you'd be home now."
