Show Ccmnorwillc Mgtjs By Marva Fletcher 679-8521 Vaughn and Mae Twitchell went to Salt Lake City for his- check up and the word is that he is doing well. Desmond Twitchell spent some time in the hospital this week with heart problems. He is home now with orders from the doctor to do nothing. Tom and Gay Shakeapeare took daughter Cherish to Salt Lake City for a check-up and she is doing well on her way to recovery. Gay said if she continues, that when they go up again in three weeks, she can probably have smaller casts on her arms and a lighter one on her leg. While in Spring City helping her daughter, Denise Broderick, with the new baby, Crystal Amanda and Glenna Fletcher were able to visit Glenna' s brother, La Von Broderick and his wife, Janice and family. While there, her niece Lisa was married. Cliff and Roanne Reynolds came for a visit with parents Lark and Bea Reynolds and accompanied them to Panguitch on Sunday to hear the homecoming report of granddaughter and niece, Melissa Reynolds, daughter of Nick and Jewell Reynolds. On Saturday, Susan Su-san Reynolds and Elaine Shakespear and their families came for an Easter visit with their parents. Jameson Choate stayed to spend the weekend and help his grandfather in the yards. Gil and Chantel Manning took their son Rosen to St. George for medical attention on Thursday. In LDS sacrament meeting Sunday, Sun-day, Jacob Moss was sustained to be advanced to a teacher in the Aaronic priesthood and Jory Twitchell Twit-chell was sustained to become a deacon. The business was conducted conduc-ted following the meeting where family members and friends were in attendance. Speakers were Marian Mecham and Malen Mecham. The choir is working on a special program pro-gram in song and narration on the life of LDS prophet Joseph Smith. Joe Thompson and George Thompson made a trip to Las Vegas. Ve-gas. They visited their parents, George and Ada Thompson and other family members there and returned re-turned with another cement truck. Trish Thompson has summer work at Bryce Canyon National Park. Evelyn Heaton has her daughter Penny LeFevre and grandsons Ian and Damien visiting her for the summer while Penny's Air Force husband Eric LeFevre is taking special spe-cial training in Mississippi. They have lived in Germany for 14 years and will be stationed in Florida when he finishes at the tech school. Evelyn went to Cedar City to attend graduation exercises for Elizabeth Heaton, daughter of Jon and Vicki Heaton. Mike Riffel spent a week in Indiana visiting his mother and other family members, then went t North Caroline where he visited his daughter and son-in-law and five grandchildren. He will go back to Indiana for another week of visiting before returning home. Troy Riffel has moved to Panguitch Pan-guitch and is employed at Rubys Inn. He had a serious health problem prob-lem and was transported to the hospital hos-pital in Panguitch, but has now returned re-turned to work. Cookie Riffel and daughter Marie Ma-rie Hayden went to Richfield where they met their Arizona friend Lucy Tumey who had been visiting in Provo. She doesn't like the heat in the Phoenix area so she spends the summers here with her friends the Riffels. Marie's friend Tara Blair and son Cory of Indiana visited the Haydens for three days and Marie and Tara spent a day at the Manti LDS temple. The Greg Hughes family has moved to Parowan. We will surely miss them as they have been a real asset to the LDS ward and the community here. They are a very musical family and will especially be missed by the LDS choir. We wish them well. For a service project, Cub Scouts Brent McCormick and Lon-nie Lon-nie Comp and Boy Scout David Clayton helped lay sod at Koda-chrome Koda-chrome State Park recently. It's good to have Beth Wogan back home. She has been in Spring City helping to take care of a new little grandson Alan Don Peterson. Pe-terson. Alma and Anita Fletcher went to St. George to catch the early morning shuttle bus to the Las Vegas Ve-gas airport for their flight to Japan where they plan to spend a week visiting their son and daughter-in-law Michael and Rimi Fletcher and their children. Michael and Rimi have two sons and a new little daughter who will be blessed while they are there. Rosie Fletcher spent last weekend week-end here planting her garden. It's always a joy to have her come. Karen Smith and two daughters of Orem came for their annual cam-pout cam-pout at Kodachrome State Park. They visited relatives and friends while they were here. Larry Fletcher and his wife Glenna and their two sons went to Spring City for the blessing of their new little granddaughter Crystal Crys-tal Amanda Broderick. Her parents are Dennis and Denise Broderick. Jamie Sorenson hurt his knee at work and the word is that he will need surgery to repair it. Tough luck, Jamie. . Bonnie Willis will go back to Salt Lake City for more medical treatments on her throat. We hope they can fix it right this time. A bazaar and bake sale for the LDS missionary fund was held at the town hall and the report was that it was quite successful. Ben Mathews took his mother Louise Mangum to Salt lake City to see Chris Mathews who is hospitalized hos-pitalized there following an accident. acci-dent. Daniel Thompson spent several days in Cedar City visiting his friend Dallas Clark. Marva Flercher received word that her sister and brother-in-law Laurie and Theron Coon are in Bainbridge, Ga., and they are really enjoying their mission. It is beautiful beau-tiful green country and the people are friendly. |
