Show Tropic News By Louise Ott 679-8776 Can you believe this weather? Two weeks ago, there was a beautiful beauti-ful storm. One would think that winter was upon us, that we would have a long, cold winter. Now the sun is shining every day; there is no wet snow to improve the water content. However, the wind is very cold. Clare Ramsay was taken by ambulance am-bulance to Panguitch and then life-flighted life-flighted to LDS Hospital. He is improving and we wish him well. Stan Ott will have his final surgery on Nov. 15. It has been a long process for him and we wish him good luck, also. Danny and Wendy Brinkerhoff have moved into the former Bill Nieman home. Hopefully, Bill and Carol will be back for an occasional visit. LaMar and Ethel LeFevre were in Las Vegas for the blessing of their granddaughter Kari Lynn LeFevre, tiny daughter of Lynn LeFevre. They had a nice visit. They then attended the State Lion's Club convention in Salina. Ella Adair, Bonnie Willis, and Darrell Shumway also attended. There were several EMT's that attended a convention in Salt Lake including Sandrea Francisco, Rick and Renon Bybee and family and Ron and Susan Harris. Sandrea took her mother Eva Dean Francisco with her so that she could visit her sister. Reldon and Dixie Richards from Apache, Ariz, visited with their parents Nyle and Merle Richards and brought them a truck. Louie and Hilma Haas had daughter Cine Fox and husband Richard visiting from Tustin, Calif. They helped to celebrate Hilma's birthday, along with daughters Mindy Fox and family, Elaine Haas and family, and Tim and Kris Feltner and family. Trevor and Jennefer Stewart and Slate Stewart were home at the Max Stewart's. LaMar and Cheri Feltner had all of their children except Tammy and family. The occasion was that Trent and Leslie Feltner brought their son to receive his name: Britten Trent Feltner; Grandfather LaMar gave the blessing. Mary Miller Boyd is working for the Child Protection with the office in Panguitch. She was in St. George for training. Tammy Shakespear has been visiting her parents Kevin and Jeanne Shakespear and will be going go-ing to Maine for a week, then on to Park City where she will be working work-ing for the winter. Karen Ott was in Cedar City several days attending meetings for the postal service. Bart Palmer reports that father Eldon Palmer has been moved back into the care center in Ogden. He had been staying at one in Bountiful where Clarie Arce, daughter daugh-ter of the Stanley Otts, works. She knows Eldon from Hawthorne, Nev. Wesley Clarke has been busy helping everyone at Doug's Place preparing for an up-to-date "scanner" "scan-ner" system. Lots of work was involved in-volved getting the labels put on everything ev-erything in the store. It will be a nice addition when all of the bugs are worked out and all trie clerks learn the system. The Fall Carnival was held at the school. The PTSO was in charge and there was a lot of activity activ-ity games, good food, and doggers performed. The old gym was filled to the brim. A huge success, thanks to all that helped. Alfred and Toni foster will be moving their house to Tropic. The foundation is ready, the water has been brought to their place that is between Earl Jolley's and Adrain Pollock's. We welcome them as another addition to our community. Danyy Shakepear visited over night with mother, Dixie Shakespear. Joy Shakespear's mother Clella Woosley has been in the hospital. Joy has been going over to be with her. She has been having therapy "from her accident, is feeling better and has returned to work on light duty. Rocky and Anita Melton visited at the Derell and Sarah Lou Sudweeks. Also, Rodney Sud weeks, daughter Charri Derell and John Perry and two children from Las Vegas were here and planned on having a dutch oven cook out on Saturday if the weather stayed nice. DeVar and Faye Pollock went to Salt Lake to help son Gary Ott run for a state office. He didn't win but made a good showing for his first time at trying. Faye said all of the family was there so all had a good time visiting. |
