Show I 2 Panguitch News Mamie Talbot 676-8084 The north breezes are blowing most days now. Tourists are becoming be-coming as scarce as the dry leaves on the trees. Several motels and summer businesses have closed for the winter. The most lively place this past week was the Court House on Election Day as more than the usual number of voters turned out to vote, visit, exchange opinions and just generally enjoy seeing folks who don't see each other very often. The corner by the elementary elemen-tary school was very busy with sewer pipe installation, school, parent-teacher conferences and the PTO Book fair. Dick Miller has a new garage behind his house. Jack and Marly n Soper have the siding on their new home. Just have to get the brick facing on the front now. But of course there's always odds and ends of jobs to be done inside. They hope to be in by Christmas. Living in a small trailer can get very confining. The Kent and Donna Osborn family has moved into the Cindy Marshall Barney home. The Wally Orton family are getting moved into the Frank Orton farmhouse. Alfhild Josie is leaving for Norway to spend several months caring for her parents. She said going so far away is getting harder with the passing years. First time grandma Deanna Bennett delightedly announces the birth of a 712 lb. 18 inch long, black haired baby' boy to her daughter daugh-ter Amy Aikins of Atlanta, Georgia. The eagerly awaited little boy is named Michael Anthony Aikins. Jeff and Carolyn Dodds Owens and family were here at her folks the Maloy Dodds. Jeff said it was so good to be home and they really miss it even though they like Alpine. In LDS Third Ward Sacrament meeting Susan Sawyer was called to be Primary chorister. Cory Owens was called as Young Mens assistant leader and Lorel Soper was called to work in Young Womens. Garrett Sawyer is a priest and Steven Moore a teacher in the priesthood. The choirs in town are now practicing for the Dec. 8 performances of "The Messiah". |
