Tanya and Jarrett Taylor have a beautiful daughter, Abrie Ann. She is also the granddaughter of LaMar and Cheri Feltner, great-granddaughter great-granddaughter of Ben and Luana Riddle. Cheri went to St. George to help Tanya. Orlan and Ferriland Ruesch had a super weekend: they attended at-tended the St. George LDS Temple Tem-ple with their grandson, T.J. Ruesch, son of John and Janice Ruesch, of Page Ariz. Also in attendance for the special time was daughters Renon and husband Rick Bybee; Gerry and husband David Munford from Sandy; Peggy and husband Frank Pitts from Taft, Calif. They also attended at-tended T.J.'s testimonial in Page. Peggy and Frank Pitts will also take son John home, he has been here for the summer living with his grandparents and spending time with cousins. Renon said that she, Gerry, Peggy and Ferriland Fer-riland all came home from Page, Ariz, in the same car for a great sistermother get together. Marian Mecham's daughter, Ann Thornton, of Tucson, Ariz, passed away after a long struggle with cancer. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of her loved ones. We are glad that Marian and Pam Miles were able to spend some time recently with her. Ron McGee and son David spent a few days with their aunt Minnie Nielson. They are from Roy. Shirley Haycock spent some time in the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City and is home now and said it was sure great to be back in her own bed. Also in the LDS Hospital was Bob Bradley. He was up there for ten days and is home now. Susan, Su-san, his wife, reports that he is improving every day. Rella and Royal Alvey were in Cedar City to see a doctor for a check-up on Royal's face. They report that son Kenneth from Idaho, Alvey of LasVegas, and children Travis and Andrea visited, vis-ited, also daughter Afton Branch from Salt Lake City. They cleaned out a shed for them. Then on Saturday, they were surprised sur-prised by a visit from son Kim Alley: his boss told him to leave his load in Panguitch and visit his parents, so he did and was here for two days. Travis Alley left on Monday to go to Provo as he will be attending Brigham Young University Uni-versity this year. Sonie Allen brought daughter Sherry Talbot and her new son over to meet his great-grandparents. great-grandparents. Dixie Shakespear called to say that Margie Ford, and daughter daugh-ter Mary Elizabeth and John Morris Mor-ris from Henderson, Nev. stopped in to visit. They also visited with Ruby and Champ Moore in Henrieville. Hen-rieville. Also visiting Dixie were daughter Betty Hepworth and daughters Nicki, and Treyn of Panguitch; Heidi, Rick, and Bry-cen Bry-cen Williams from Salt Lake City; Monti and Dixie Michael, Megan and Nathan Edwards from Enoch; and Lori and Alma Keiser from Sandy. Joyce and Sherwood Davis from Midvale visited with Ella Adair and Bonnie and Gale Miles. Larry and Carol Adair from St. George and visited a couple of days also. Earl Jolley is in the Extended Care Center in Panguitch and would appreciate a visit. His wife Rachel is staying with son Doug and wife Vicki Ahlstrom. We have had a week of some lovely rain storms, it has certainly helped as it has been so very dry. LeGrande "Buz" Johnson, brother of Gloria Clark passed, away in Salt Lake. Tonya Syrett took Gloria to his funeral services in Salt Lake City. Kowan and Melanie Ott have moved back and all of their children chil-dren are enrolled in school. The summer has flown by all to fast and we all wonder where it went. Everyone knows about the flooding we had last week but the lightening and thunder that has been around the area was something some-thing to behold: lightening struck the elm tree out by Kent and Betty's kitchen door and threw branches and spit one branch that looked like some one had taken an axe to it. Betty said that she (See Tropic News On Page 6-A) Tropic News From Page 2-A and Kent were standing by the screen door and were thankful that it hit the tree rather than them. Doug and daughter Julie Ahl-strom Ahl-strom were in Salt Lake City. Vicki Syrett attended baptisms for two grandchildren in Ogden. Givonna Sudweeks spent time at the Iron County Fair and said it rained and the water came under the tent that was set up for the performers. Everyone got soaked, but it was worth it. Verlyn Munson was in the Panguitch hospital for several days and Dixie Shakespear brought her home. Dixie had Ver-lyn's Ver-lyn's father Silas Munson along, they stopped and toured the new Western Town on the way home. |
